Admissions - Now Accepting Applications

The admissions committee takes a comprehensive approach in evaluating applications, considering the application package in its entirety.  Upon receipt of a complete application, eligible candidates will be contacted by the program for a required on-campus interview.  Applicants should be prepared to review managerial experience and academic background and discuss program requirements.  Applicants should also be prepared to describe projects they have handled that demonstrate management skills. 

Application and Fee

Now accepting applications for the Class of 2017 with classes beginning in December 2015. Once accepted to the program, a $1,500 deposit towards your tuition is required and is non-refundable after December 1.  For more information about completing your application, please view the Online Application Tip Sheet.

*Admission decisions are made within four weeks from the date of interview and are communicated by email and US mail.

Note: If you have been previously enrolled as a degree-seeking student in a Graduate School at The Ohio State Univeristy please submit a Transfer of Graduate Program form in addition to your application. If you need assistance with this form please contact your intended graduate program. 

Personal Resume

An updated copy of your resume listing work experience and career progression. Applicants should have at least 7 years professional experience.  Average experience is 12 years.

College Transcripts

Contact all educational institutions you have attended and request one official transcript of all degree course work completed (both undergraduate and graduate) be sent directly to Dana Brown at the address provided below in their original, sealed envelopes or they will not be accepted . *Transfer credit appearing on another school’s transcript does not constitute an official record and will not be accepted.

Note: Transcripts for course work or degrees received from The Ohio State University can be obtained internally by the EMBA program. 

Recommendation Forms (3)

Please arrange to have three professional recommendations prepared by persons familiar with your qualifications and potential for graduate study. One of these recommendations should be completed by your immediate supervisor. 

Employer Sponsorship

Please ask your employer to provide a company letter of support on company letterhead. Endorsement of your candidacy by your employer is a critical factor in the admission decision and must include an explicit commitment of financial resources (if applicable).

Statement of self nomination

Please tell us in a brief 1-2 page statement why you want to enter the Fisher EMBA program, and how you expect enrollment will impact the demands of your professional and personal responsibilities and schedule.

If you are enrolling in EMBA-Energy, please outline your career goals within the energy industry and how earning the Certificate of Specialization in Energy will support these goals.

Organizational chart

To help the admissions committee understand your professional responsibilities and the nature of your organization, please include a copy of your company’s organizational chart showing your position in the organization. If your firm is private and does not distribute an organizational chart please be sure to indicate.


Eligible applicants are expected to participate in an on-campus interview to review your academic as well as managerial experience and your academic preparation for the program. Be prepared to describe projects you have handled that demonstrate your management skills. You will be contacted by the program manager regarding the interview once a complete application packet is submitted.


Some candidates may be asked to take the GMAT if their undergraduate GPA is below a 3.0 or for other reasons. If this is required, please have the test scores sent directly to the Fisher College of Business, School Code #ZLJ-9D-47. Candidates whose native language is not English must demonstrate fluency in English by taking the TOEFL. If you hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from a US institution you may be eligible for a waiver of the TOEFL. Please contact Mara McKee for additional information.
