Steffanie L. Wilk
Steffanie L. Wilk is an Associate Professor of Management and Human Resources at The Ohio State University, where she teaches courses in organizational behavior and strategic human resources. She received her Ph.D. from the Industrial Relations Center at the University of Minnesota, specializing in selection, training and development and organizational behavior, and was formerly at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include the relationship of occupational mobility patterns of individuals in the labor force, employee burnout and turnover, emotional labor, and the relationship between human resource practices and organizational strategy. Two recent studies, one supported by the Russell Sage/Rockefeller Foundation’s Future of Work Program, are on the skills, career opportunities, and mobility of service center workers. Professor Wilk’s dissertation and research papers have won awards from the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists. She has been retained as an expert witness in cases involving selection systems and has consulted for both public and private sector organizations in the area of selection, turnover and absenteeism, and organizational change. She has published work in Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology and American Psychologist. She is the recipient of 2003 Excellence in Teaching Award from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
