BiographyRebecca JacobsMs. Jacobs obtained her B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1994 and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1997. She has practiced law in Columbus, Ohio, since 1997. Ms. Jacobs currently is counsel with Ulmer & Berne LLP, a firm which has more than 185 lawyers among its Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Chicago offices. Focusing on employment and labor law, Ms. Jacobs has represented employers on a broad spectrum of issues, including all forms of discrimination, wrongful discharge and contract claims. She frequently performed training sessions on topics such as sexual harassment, discrimination and labor laws. She also assisted clients in developing policies and agreements for such employment matters as telecommuting, and Internet and social media issues. Ms. Jacobs also has represented financial institutions and restaurants on issues including business litigation and premises liability. She has also served as a volunteer mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Jacobs has worked on a number of cases which have resulted in published opinions, including Noble v. Brinker Int'l, Inc., 391 F.3d 715 (6th Cir. 2004), Imbrogno v. MIMRx.COM, Inc., 2003 Ohio 6108 (Ohio Ct. App. 2003), and Barrett v. Lucent Technologies Inc., 36 Fed. Appx. 835 (6th Cir. 2002). |
