Welcome to the Logistics Program at The Ohio State University

For over 40 years, The Ohio State University has been a recognized center of academic excellence in business logistics. Our undergraduate program is ranked 5th and the MBA program is ranked 7th by U.S. News and World Report. The objectives of the Logistics Program are twofold:

  • To deliver a world class logistics education to our undergraduates, MBA, doctoral students, and participants in our executive education programs.

  • To conduct innovative logistics and supply chain management research with leading edge firms and institutions which will advance the state of knowledge in the disciplines and ensure the vitality and validity of our curriculum.

The logistics faculty is part of the Department of Marketing and Logistics. To learn more about the activities of the logistics students and faculty, visit the links on the left.

In addition to research in logistics, we also conduct leading-edge research in Supply Chain Management. Increasingly, supply chain management is being viewed not as a business function but as a business approach used to transcend traditional functional boundaries.

Supply chain management is the integration of key business processes from end user through original suppliers that provides products, services, and information that add value for customers and other stakeholders.

It focuses on the management of the relationships between firms in the supply chain. Because these relationships can be complex, all business functions need to be involved.
