Austin joined the PhD program at the Fisher College of Business in the fall of 2010. Prior to joining the program, Austin worked as an accounting manager for a small business in Orem, UT. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics as well as a master’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. Austin’s dissertation examines how a firm’s incentives to publicly disclose privately held information are affected by network effects. He has also conducted research considering the impact of aggregation on a firm’s capital budgeting decisions. Austin will complete is PhD in the summer of 2014.
