Back home, when a plant’s leaves turn red, brown, or yellow, it usually means that the plant is dying. Here, it means autumn.
For the past weeks, the campus has been exploding with these beautiful hues. And for someone experiencing autumn for the very first time, it is an amazing sight. I just wanted to spend a day to jump on the leaves and have a photo session with all the colors.
Ever since I got my snazzy new Fisher business cards, I’ve made a habit of leaving them in the “fishbowl” that frequently resides near the register at diners, eateries, watering-holes and restaurants. Thursday October 5th, 2009 was a very exciting day for the Fisher College of Business first year full-time MBA students... our first official case competition! For those not in the know, case competitions are basically the main battleground for intercollegiate MBA superiority... it used to be dodge-ball, but the AACSB decided that there wasn't much academic merit to that. I have just submitted my application form to be considered for Fisher's annual trip to visit Warren Buffett in Omaha, Nebraska. I am so hoping that my name will be randomly chosen!!
In order to be considered, I had to attend an information session and then fill out an online form where I had to submit a 250-word essay stating why I consider myself to be a good candidate to attend the event and also submit a question that could be asked to Mr. Buffett during the visit.
As time flies, I have been here for more than two months. I find that I am loving the life here gradually. OSU, Columbus, both have been an undivided part from my life. People here are really nice to foreigners, they give us an friendly and warm environment to adapt our lives in such a totally different environment.
