Expanding RolesFisher College has a strong and personalized alumni relations program that relies on outstanding members who work to make a difference. Over the past year, Fisher College’s Alumni Society Board redefined their role while focusing on both long- and short-term goals. The Alumni Board provides guidance and direction for the alumni relations team in addition to serving as a sounding board for new ideas and implementation of programs, events and networking opportunities. Preparing LeadersFor over 35 years, the Dean’s Leadership Conference has helped top undergraduate students further develop their leadership skills. Students are selected to participate based upon academic excellence, dedication to the community and leadership skills. The May seminar, sponsored by the Pace Setter’s Board of Trustees, gave students the opportunity to learn skills necessary for advancing their leadership from corporate executive Jerry Jurgensen, CEO of Nationwide. Staying ConnectedFostering partnerships between alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff is fundamental to creating a successful Fisher College experience. The college’s alumni and friends online community helps alumni stay informed about programs, connect with fellow graduates, mentor current students and post available jobs. Going GlobalLocal, regional and international events were hosted around the world last year and included monthly alumni activities in Bangkok, Chicago, Dallas, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Miami, Palo Alto, Shanghai and Singapore. These gatherings provide a way for graduates to reconnect and offer prospective students living in these cities a chance to experience Fisher College through alumni interaction and support. |
