Faculty Impact

Two of Marketing and Logistics Professor Greg M. Allenby’s articles have been listed among the 10 most frequently cited Marketing Science articles published since 1990, by an analysis from Columbia University’s Center for Decision Sciences. Management and Human Resources Professor Roy J. Lewicki’s Making Sense of Intractable Environmental Conflicts won the Best Book Award at the 2004 International Association of Conflict Management Meetings.
       
An article by Marketing and Logistics Associate Professor Curtis P. Haugtvedt was listed as the most frequently cited article published in the Journal of Consumer Psychology since its 1992 founding. René M. Stulz, professor of finance, has been recognized among the “100 Most Influential People in Finance” by Treasury and Risk Management magazine.
       
Deborah A. Ballam, professor of finance and director of the Undergraduate Business Administration Honors Program, has been appointed interim assistant vice provost for women’s policy initiatives and interim director of The Women’s Place at Ohio State. Peter T. Ward, Department of Management Sciences chair, was awarded the prestigious Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing for his paper, “Lean Manufacturing: Context, Practice Bundles and Performance,” published in the Journal of Operations Management.
       
Management and Human Resources Professor Jay B. Barney’s article, titled “Strategic Factor Markets: Expectations, Luck and Business Strategy,” has been named one of the 50 most influential in the history of management science. Management and Human Resources Assistant Professor Sharon Alvarez has been named one of 30 scholar members worldwide of the prestigious Max Planck Institute for Research into Economic Systems. She will be working with the Entrepreneurship, Growth and Public Policy Group within the Germany-based institute.
