Mayo Clinic researchers
story telling
When the Mayo Clinic wanted to measure the quality of their care, they turned to Fisher research. Marketing professor Neeli Bendapudi determined that "evidence management" - presenting customers with coherent proof of an organization's strength and values - was the answer. Along with Texas A&M colleague Leonard Berry, she found that the clinic's formula for success is a lesson other service-based organizations should heed: understand the story you want to tell, then make sure your people and facilities provide daily evidence of that story to your customers. Professor Bendapudi then told her story to the Harvard Business Review 2003.
