Graduates accepting positions with consulting firms had the highest
starting salariesaveraging $105,388followed by those
accepting positions with financial investment firms, who averaged
$90,600. The salary average rose a little over $4,000 this year,
compared to nearly $8,000 last year, due primarily to a slowing
economy in the later half of the recruiting cycle. However, companies
responded more favorably with increases in signing bonuses and
other guaranteed compensation, raising the average guaranteed
first-year compensation to $103,263, an increase of nearly $6,000
from last year.
