John M. Shepherd is former chief executive officer of The Shepherd Chemical Company, Norwood, Ohio. He received a BS in ceramic engineering from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the Fisher College of Business.

Shepherd Chemical began operations in 1916 as a manufacturer of metal salts and metal carboxyalates, which is its business today. Its products are used as catalysts, precursors to catalysts, and intermediates in a wide variety of applications in the chemical process industries.
