Ed Overmyer is chairman of Willis HRH in Columbus, Ohio. Willis HRH, the North American arm of Willis Group Holdings, came into being in October 2008 after a transformational $2.1 billion combination between Willis and Hilb Rogal & Hobbs (HRH). Mr. Overmyer was previously the chairman of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs of Ohio, LLC.
Immediately following graduation from The Ohio State University, Ed began his professional career in 1961, working for an insurance company. In 1965, he entered the insurance agency business and subsequently was co-founder of Berwanger Overmyer Associates in 1973.
Ed earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 1969. He served as president of the National Society of Charter Property Casualty Underwriters in 1992 and 1993, and brings strong commitment to furthering the education and development of Willis HRH’s associates.
Through his involvement in the community and the insurance industry, Ed enhances the opportunity and growth of Willis HRH. He presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Griffith Foundation for Insurance Education. Ed is a past Board Member of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers. He serves as a Board Member of Opera Columbus, the Upper Arlington Community Foundation and is a Corporate Advisory Committee Member of Capital University. Ed also volunteers for Meals-on-Wheels.
Ed specializes in serving the property and casualty insurance needs of large commercial businesses. His relationships throughout the industry and the country continue to benefit many of our clients.
