Ray J. Groves was with Ernst & Young for 37 years serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the last 17 years until his retirement in 1994. Mr. Groves was Chairman of Legg Mason Merchant Banking, Inc. from 1995 to 2001. He was President, Chairman and Senior Advisor of Marsh Inc. in 2001-2005.
Mr. Groves serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the following NYSE companies: Boston Scientific Corporation, Electronic Data Systems Corporation and The Gillette Company. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr. Groves is former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the American Stock Exchange and the National Association of Securities Dealers.
He is a member and former Chair of the Board of Directors of The Ohio State University Foundation and he is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Fisher College of Business. He is a former member of the Board of Overseers of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and served as the Chairman of its Center for the Study of the Service Sector. Mr. Groves is a Managing Director of The Metropolitan Opera Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of The Collegiate Chorale.
