Dean's Advisory Council: Timothy Gallagher
Timothy Gallagher is a Division Director for Macquarie Group, Australia's largest investment bank. Timothy is Global Head of the Commercial Real Estate Markets group in the Credit Trading division within Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities department. In his role Timothy oversees the origination, structuring and trading of Commercial Mortgaged Backed Securities ("CMBS") and all CRE related debt products.
Previously, Timothy was with Morgan Stanley for 11 years. Morgan Stanley is a global financial services company that provides its products and services to a diversified group of clients and customers, including corporations, governments, financial institutions and individuals. At Morgan Stanley he worked in the Sales & Trading area of the Fixed Income Division where he managed the trading, distribution and risk of various mortgage related products. Previous to Morgan Stanley, Timothy was a managing director for Goldman Sachs & Co, a global investment banking, securities and investment management firm. At Goldman Sachs, Timothy was based in New York and worked in the Americas Financing Group where he ran the mortgage origination and distribution business. Previously, Timothy was a managing director in the European Financing Group for Goldman Sachs International, in London, where he worked with corporate and financial sponsor clients across Europe on various debt capital markets transactions. And prior to his time in Europe, Timothy was in Sales & Trading in the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division of Goldman Sachs in New York.
Timothy is currently serving a three-year term as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council - the main industry lobbying group for the Commercial Real Estate Finance sector in Washington DC. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Real Estate at Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University and a member of the Dean's Advisory Council at Fisher College of Business. Timothy earned a BSBA from The Ohio State University.
