Diverse Events at FisherEach year, Fisher sponsors events that bring together students from across campus as well as across the country to provide unique learning opportunities as well as embrace cultural diversity through celebrations. Annual EventsDiversity Business AwardsFisher’s Annual Diversity Business Awards recognize corporations and individuals that support the college diversity efforts. Student leaders from student organizations that serve diverse populations within Fisher's community are also recognized at the awards ceremony. Ernst & Young Scholarship ReceptionEach year, Ernst & Young provides scholarships to five undergraduate business. During a reception each spring, students are recognized with scholarships for demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and promoting inclusiveness at Fisher. KeyBank/OSU Minority MBA Case CompetitionThe annual case competition, which attracts MBAs from around the country, provides competitors with a real-life case surrounding a current business challenge that also presents diversity issues with national and international implications. Key Bank Undergraduate SymposiumFisher and KeyBank have collaborated to provide undergraduate business junior and senior students a three-day intensive camp on leadership, creativity, product innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, persuasive communication and the art of "putting it all together." Student Organization EventsBlack Leadership Speaker SeriesThe Black MBA Speaker Series provides an opportunity for Fisher students and faculty to engage a diverse group of corporate executives that have each had phenomenal careers across various functional areas. The speaker series allows the Fisher community to interact with these executives on a personal level and better understand how diversity has helped shape their careers. Chinese Spring Festival CelebrationFisher’s Chinese Business Professional Association annually presents a brilliant and culturally rich New Year Gala for the Fisher community. The event has featured a Qipao fashion show, lion dance, Taiji martial art, delicate Chinese food, temple fair with Chinese calligraphy, diabolo and other games. UTSAVFisher College of Business students, faculty, and staff celebrate UTSAV each spring through modern Indian dance, fashion, and cuisine. |
