Jeffrey D. Kelly

Jeffrey D. Kelly is vice chairman and chief financial officer of National City Corporation. He also oversees National City Mortgage, National Home Equity, Allegiant Asset Management, Structured Products, and the Specialized Banking business units.

Mr. Kelly began his career at National City in 1979 as a management assistant in the bank investment division. He held several positions in this area before being named senior vice president and head of the investment division in 1990. In 1994, he was appointed executive vice president and named chief funds management officer. Mr. Kelly has served as chairman of the Asset Liability Management Committee, and chairman of National City Equity Partners. In 2000, he was named chief financial officer. In December 2004, he was named vice chairman.

Mr. Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University in 1977 and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Akron in 1979. Mr. Kelly is also active in several business and community-based organizations. He is director of the Progressive Insurance Corporation, and also serves as a Trustee of the Progressive Insurance Foundation. He is Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Cleveland Museum of Art and is also a trustee. He is a member of the Financial Services Roundtable. Mr. Kelly and his wife Jill live in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
