Karen L. Hendricks

Karen L. Hendricks was appointed to the board of trustees in 1999 by Governor Bob Taft. She is the retired chair of the board, chief executive officer, and president of the Baldwin Piano & Organ Company.

Prior to joining Baldwin, she was executive vice president and general manager of the Skin Care Division at The Dial Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Hendricks spent almost 21 years at the Procter & Gamble Company, beginning in product development after graduating from The Ohio State University in chemical engineering. In her last two years at Procter & Gamble, she was manager of Worldwide Strategic Planning for the company's expanding global hair care business.

Ms. Hendricks serves on the board of directors of Corn Products International Inc., KCP Income Fund, and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. She is also a board member of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of The American Red Cross, a member of the Commercial Club in Cincinnati, and recipient of the YWCA Women of Achievement Award in Cincinnati in 1997.

Previously, her affiliations include board membership of ACNielsen Corporation and the Columbia Energy Group; trusteeship of the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce; and membership on the Cincinnati Business Committee and the Ohio Business Roundtable.

Ms. Hendricks is a native of Shelby, Ohio, and her husband, Milt, live in Cincinnati, and have four grown children, one of whom is a student at Ohio State.
